TrueView is a powerful feature in Hatch Embroidery that provides a graphical preview of how your finished embroidery design will look. Here’s everything you need to know about what it is, how to turn it off, and when to use it.
What is TrueView?
TrueView offers a realistic representation of your embroidery, displaying stitch colors, textures, and how the design will appear on a garment or item.
How to Turn TrueView On or Off:
You must have a design open to toggle TrueView. There are three ways to do this:
- Go to View -> TrueView in the menu.
- Use the hotkey T.
- Click the TrueView icon in your View toolbar.
When to Use TrueView:
- While Digitizing:
- TrueView helps visualize your design, including colors and stitch effects.
- You can add an article background to see how your design will look on a specific fabric or garment.
When to Turn Off TrueView:
- Before Stitching Out the Design:
- Turning off TrueView reveals the actual stitches in your design.
- This allows you to inspect:
- Stitch Placement: Identify where stitches are placed, especially in larger satin or fill areas.
- Long Stitches: Look for dotted lines, which represent stitches that are too long to sew—they won’t stitch out.
- Jumps and Trims: Review these to ensure smooth stitching.
- Frame-Out Stitches: Check for proper placement in applique designs.
Turning off TrueView gives you a detailed look at your design’s technical aspects, helping you avoid issues during embroidery.
Pro Tip:
On your next project, toggle TrueView off during your final review to spot potential problems before stitching!
