What is the best way to save image files to open in Hatch Embroidery for Auto-Digitizing?

Hatch Embroidery can read several image formats. There are some methods that will work best in Hatch Embroidery especially if you are wanting to do part or all the design with one of the Hatch Embroidery Auto-Digitizing functions.

NOTE: This is NOT necessary for Color PhotoStitch as it can use many colors but we do recommend at least reducing it to 256 colors or less for Color PhotoStitch.

Here are the image formats that Hatch Embroidery can open:




Tip: If you are saving your artwork in a graphics program to an image file format and then will open in Hatch Embroidery, the recommended method to save:

Save to .PNG with these settings:

  • Transparency background
  • Reduce colors to at least 256 or less
  • Turn off (unchecked) anti-aliasing

NOTEs: 

You can only open CDR files if you have an approved version of CorelDraw installed and it is linked to Hatch Embroidery.

If you want to open the vector files as vectors, be sure to uncheck "as bitmap" before opening.
