Compatibility Overview

Support depends on your Mac hardware, Windows version, and Parallels configuration.

Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4,M5)

  • Requires:
    • Parallels Desktop (latest version recommended)
    • Windows 11 ARM Edition
  • Only ARM-based Windows is supported on Apple Silicon Macs

Software Requirements

  • Parallels Desktop (latest version recommended)
  • Windows 11 Pro ARM Edition (22H2 or newer)

Tested configurations:

  • Hatch v3
    • Windows 11 ARM (Build 22621 or newer)


Notes

Hatch 4 may currently run slower than Hatch 3 on certain ARM-based computers, such as Snapdragon PCs and Apple Silicon (M-series) Macs.

Performance enhancements are already scheduled in a future update.

In the meantime, please review the recommended system requirements for the best experience.

Hardware Requirements

  • Mac with Apple Silicon chip (M1 or newer)

Recommended:

  • 32GB RAM for optimal performance
  • Systems with lower RAM may experience slower performance or reduced usability

Installation Steps

  1. Download and install Parallels Desktop
    • Use the latest available version
  2. Create a new virtual machine
    • Select Windows 11 ARM Edition
    • Parallels may automatically download and install Windows
  3. Complete Windows setup
    • Sign in with your Microsoft account
    • Run all Windows updates until fully up to date
  4. Configure the virtual machine (optional but recommended)
    • Allocate sufficient RAM and CPU cores based on your Mac specs
  5. Install Hatch Embroidery
    • Download and install Hatch inside the Windows environment

Important Notes

  • You must use an ARM-based Windows installation on Apple Silicon Macs
  • Hatch is installed inside the Windows VM, not on macOS
  • Performance depends on:
    • Mac hardware
    • VM resource allocation
    • Parallels version
  • Using the latest version of Parallels Desktop is strongly recommended for compatibility and stability
