Hatch Embroidery 3 installation fails with error caused by PC Matic Antivirus

ISSUE: Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file due to permission issues.

This error is caused by PC Matic -  PC Matic | Antivirus, Endpoint Security & Application Whitelisting | Cyber Security for Home & Business






SOLUTION: Temporarily disable PC Matic and proceed with the Hatch Embroidery 3 installation. After installing and rebooting your PC, remember to re-enable your PC Matic antivirus.

STEPS: 

Show the hidden icons 

Click 'PC Matic'

Select 'Protection Level'

Select 'Off Until Reboot'

Then proceed with Hatch Embroidery 3 installation.







PLEASE NOTE: Hatch Embroidery 3 WILL NOT run if PC Matic is enabled. In order to run Hatch Embroidery 3 after installation, Select 'Pause for 1 HOUR'

 

As per the PC Matic Forum Site "there is not a way to excluded specific files/folders from the PC Matic scan.  If there is something being identified as malware that you do not want removed, you can turn off AUTO FIX, run a scan, then whitelist the specific files from the High Security section of the scan report."

Please contact your PC MATIC Support team to help whitelist the HATCH EMBROIDERY 3 folders and files. 

 

The folder that needs to be excluded is 'C:\Program Files\Wilcom'
 All the Hatch Embroidery 3 files can be found in  'C:\Program Files\Wilcom\Hatch Embroidery 3'
