How to save to PDF in Hatch Embroidery?
A PDF is a "document" file. Hatch Embroidery saves embroidery files, so you will need to have the "save to PDF" capability on your computer.
In Hatch Embroidery you will use the "Print Design" function when you want to save to PDF. NOTE: this could be different depending on the PDF program you have on your own computer.
1. Make sure you have the PDF capability on your computer:
You need to make sure you have the capability to save to PDF on your computer. This may be included with your version of windows but some of the later versions no longer includes this feature. (e.g. Windows 10). You may have this through Adobe, MS Office or a PDF converter program. There are free PDF writers available online.
Many PDF programs are set up as a PDF printer. In this case you "print to PDF" which actually saves that file to PDF. It does not actually print this file. There are some printers that have the capability to save to PDF and print at the same time. These are all functions outside of Hatch Embroidery.
2. Prepare your worksheet to be printed:
You can click the "Preview" icon in Hatch Embroidery
or
You can click "File Menu" > "Print Preview"
Your worksheet in Hatch Embroidery will open up. Select "options" and select the features you want to print.
NOTE: "Print Now" button will print to your default printer. Unless you have PDF set as your default printer, you will need to click "Close" button at this time.
3. If your PDF is not set as the default printer:
From within the worksheet as mentioned above, click "Close" button. This will take you back to your computer's Hatch Embroidery design screen.
Click File Menu > Print Design
A window will open to allow you to select your printer. Your default printer will be at the top.
Select your PDF program > Click "OK"
You may see a "printing" screen flash and then it will open a dialog for you to save your file.
NOTE: if a window does not open, look in at the bottom of your screen and you may see a "printer icon" flashing. If so, click this to open the window. This will depend on the program you are using.
Select the location, file name and click the "Save" button.
